More Progress, Less of Everything Else: Meeting Campus Needs In Today's Economic Climate
When the need to increase physical capacity collided with the realities of a 20-acre triangular campus in Beaumont, leaders at Lamar Institute of Technology realized that they needed a cohesive vision and a comprehensive plan. This session explains how the plan they developed will enable the school to accommodate twice the number of students, house an expanded curriculum and present a graceful, welcoming "front door" to a reorganized campus. The presenters, who represent the Texas State University System, Lamar Institute and the consulting team, will demonstrate how a successful master plan emerges in concert with state and system requirements, disparate stakeholder positions, changing curriculum challenges and the realities of our current economy. They will also discuss the planning and presentation tools needed to garner support, including funding, from stakeholders.
