2018 Conference

Welcome to San Antonio!

WELCOME to San Antonio and the 2018 Association of Texas College and University Facilities Professionals (TCUF) Conference and Expo September 21-23, 2018. This is the 6th biennial conference and this year is hosted by the Alamo Colleges District in cooperation with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).

San Antonio’s rich history began in May 1718 with the founding of the Mission San Antonio de Valero (now the Alamo). The City is celebrating its tricentennial – 300 San Antonio – and is proud of its accomplishments throughout the past three centuries. The small collective grew from the Alamo to become the 7th largest city in the United States as well as a major contributor to the advancement of arts, tourism, cuisine and technology.

Beginning with a kick-off golf tournament event on September 20, 2018, over the next few days this conference will provide attendees with a selection of 48 education sessions, most of which will have 3-4 presenters. These topics range broadly and cover interests in sustainability planning, allied health education, the preservation of unique campus resources, transformation of older colleges, early college high schools and community colleges, simulation based learning, creating a gateway for military personnel pursuing higher education, integrated teaching environments, and transforming 21st century learning.

As the Conference Chair, I would like to thank all of the members of the TCUF Board/Planning Committee, the army of volunteers and Alamo Colleges District staff, all of whom have worked diligently on this conference. Special thanks go out to the conference Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Fiesta sponsors.
Please enjoy the conference as well as the City of San Antonio.

I will see you at the conference!
