St. Philip’s College—the nation’s only institution designated as both an HBCU and an HSI—has linked campus transformation to measurable student success. Enrollment doubled from 2007 to 2026 to more than 20,000 students, alongside record outcomes, including over 4,000 degrees awarded in 2025—the highest in its 127‑year history. This session explores how a long-term partnership between the President and Architect aligned facilities investments with career pathways, affordability, and student support. More than 80 projects—including student life, workforce, and academic buildings—were designed to serve a student body that is mostly minority, largely part‑time, balancing work, family, and school. These facilities support high‑demand programs such as cybersecurity, automotive, nursing, and welding, driving improvements in retention, completion, job placement, transfer success, and equity outcomes.
