Planning a flagship building for a new campus requires more than validating current needs; it anticipates what does not yet exist. This session explores the University of Texas at Arlington’s UTA West campus as a case study in future-forward, integrated planning and programming. The process began with a central question: what future careers should this campus enable, and what environments will support them? Through an iterative, research-driven engagement model, stakeholders translated workforce trends, academic vision, and regional priorities into adaptable spatial strategies grounded in principles that support well-being. Participants will engage in a hands-on activity using a framework to map future career pathways to space typologies, including immersive simulation, hybrid labs, and collaborative learning environments. The session demonstrates how data-informed, inclusive processes can produce flexible, resilient facilities that evolve with higher education.
