Katherine Miller

Katherine Miller, AIA, is an accomplished leader in campus planning, capital development, and project delivery with nearly 40 years of experience across the design and construction industry. Her career spans both corporate and higher education environments, providing a broad perspective on managing complex capital programs and aligning facilities investments with institutional priorities. Prior to joining Lamar University, Katherine led facilities development initiatives for MCI Telecommunications and Enron before serving 13 years with the University of Houston System. There, she held progressively senior roles including Interim Executive Director of Facilities Planning and Construction and oversaw transformative projects such as the Energy Research Park Renovations, Cougar Place student housing, and the $80 million multi phase University Center Transformation, along with numerous academic, athletic, and student life facilities across the system. In her current role as Associate Vice President of Planning and Construction at Lamar University, Katherine has guided the institution’s first major education focused campus expansion in nearly four decades. Her leadership includes a new Science and Technology building, the expansion and renovation of the Setzer Student Center, a comprehensive campus master plan, and the $68 million renovation of the Mary and John Gray Library.
