Mark Mortimer

Mark Mortimer is an Associate Principal and Design Discipline Leader at HED, where he brings more than 20 years of architectural experience delivering thoughtful, high-performance environments across a range of project types. Based in Dallas, Mark specializes in leading multidisciplinary teams and guiding projects from early concept through construction, with a focus on creating spaces that are both functional and human-centered.

Prior to joining HED, Mark was a Senior Designer and Project Manager at VAI Architects, where he played a key role in the design and delivery of complex projects. His portfolio includes work in healthcare, senior living, hospitality, and commercial sectors, reflecting a strong ability to translate client goals into impactful design solutions.

Mark began his career at HKS, developing a foundation in healthcare and commercial architecture, and has since built a reputation for collaborative leadership, design excellence, and technical rigor. He holds both a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture from The University of Texas at Arlington.
