Michelle Old

As a Design Director at Kirksey Architecture, Michelle Old strategically leads design efforts across the firm. She is passionate about designing spaces that promote creativity, collaboration, and health. Michelle frequently speaks at conferences and has been recognized with numerous awards for her work and industry contributions, including an AIA Ben Brewer Young Architect Award. She was also named as one of BD+C Magazine’s 40 Under 40, a member of Houston’s Emerging Voices by the AIA Young Architects Forum (YAF), part of the nation’s Diverse Designers in 2021, and included in the inaugural 40 Under 40 in North America list from The Architect’s Newspaper and World Architecture Festival. Her work has garnered design awards from Texas Architect, AIA Houston, SCUP, and IIDA. She is an expert in mass timber design and construction, a mentor to emerging professionals at Kirksey, and an advocate for the profession.
