Darrell Whatley is an Associate Partner and Executive Project Manager with Kirksey Architecture, bringing nearly three decades of experience delivering complex education and student-focused projects. Since joining the firm in 2000, he has led projects from programming through construction, managing multidisciplinary teams while keeping client goals, design intent, and execution aligned.

Based in Houston, Darrell is known for his clear communication, collaborative leadership, and practical problem-solving approach, particularly on technically demanding and schedule-driven projects.

He also serves as a National Board Member for the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects and is an active speaker on emerging trends in the built environment, including mass timber construction and its benefits related to sustainability, speed of construction, and user experience. His expertise bridges design innovation with effective project delivery.
